So I just picked one up from the site. Thanks Mike. Awesome price on a great blade. Can't wait for it to arrive. So has anyone else picked one up yet?

This knife and it's evolution has almost a cult status to me. I think it has been such an incredible knife through all of its variations.

I’m not sure if I’m feeling the new Caly 3.5. Don’t get me wrong, the Caly is a great series and I have a CF\ZDP one, which sort of ties into this. For about 10 bucks more you can get the ZDP one, yes its .5 smaller, but the good outweighs the bad here. VG-10 is great steel, but it falls short in comparison. It retails for $189.95 US and its G-10/ VG-10..? Plus has a wire clip..? I think a Caly 4.0 would have made more sense with peel ply CF, ZDP and a real clip. If we’re going to pay homage, let’s do it with style. But that’s just my opinion; it’s still a pretty sweet deal for $103.87 US… Enjoy your new knife!

In my opinion it is slightly better with a 3.5 inch blade, but I am like you 4 would have been better.Never got what the big deal was about the Caly3. A buddy of mine has one, and it never really did anything for me(seems a little dainty). I think the Calypso Jr SS was better.
Oddly, I'm still on the fence about this one. It's getting a "just okay" from me. I am a huge Caly fan but I much prefer the old Caly. They drilled out so much on the liners to lighten it up that the handle feels kinda cheap and hollow. And if I am not mistaken the G10 feel different as well. Seems like every speck of dust sticks to it.

I have had my opinion change before after I have had a new knife so who knows, and I am really liking my new Para 2 so maybe I'll warm up to it later on down the line. It also came with a bit of side to side play and after I tightened the pivot now the action on it is pretty stiff. Jury is out for now.
my buddy bought a Caly 3.5 ....... still does nothing for me. He also purchased a Para 2 and it is awesome! I am going to wait for the Digicam, or Foliage green.

I just got the Caly 3.5 as I've been looking for a more modern replacement for my Wayne Goddard Jr. black scaled Spyderco.  I think the Caly 3.5 is a nice. It may become my EDC over the Sage Titanium as it is lighter than my Goddard Jr. and Sage Titanium I like the  larger blade length than the Goddard Jr. and Sage Titanium. I just wish it had a more pronouced blade guard like the Sage Titanium. The Sage comes to hand a little better than the Caly 3.5 IMHO even though it has a shorter handle. I'd also like the larger thumb hole of the Sage Titanium over the Caly (though I understand the profile of the Caly 3.5 wouldn't probably support it).

Thanks for the input.  Good thoughts on it.  I never thought I would like it as much as I did.  Holding it really makes a big difference.
