Permalink Reply by Jim Veader on September 3, 2010 at 7:08am Oddly, I'm still on the fence about this one. It's getting a "just okay" from me. I am a huge Caly fan but I much prefer the old Caly. They drilled out so much on the liners to lighten it up that the handle feels kinda cheap and hollow. And if I am not mistaken the G10 feel different as well. Seems like every speck of dust sticks to it.
I have had my opinion change before after I have had a new knife so who knows, and I am really liking my new Para 2 so maybe I'll warm up to it later on down the line. It also came with a bit of side to side play and after I tightened the pivot now the action on it is pretty stiff. Jury is out for now.

I just got the Caly 3.5 as I've been looking for a more modern replacement for my Wayne Goddard Jr. black scaled Spyderco. I think the Caly 3.5 is a nice. It may become my EDC over the Sage Titanium as it is lighter than my Goddard Jr. and Sage Titanium I like the larger blade length than the Goddard Jr. and Sage Titanium. I just wish it had a more pronouced blade guard like the Sage Titanium. The Sage comes to hand a little better than the Caly 3.5 IMHO even though it has a shorter handle. I'd also like the larger thumb hole of the Sage Titanium over the Caly (though I understand the profile of the Caly 3.5 wouldn't probably support it).
