I got my Foliage Green Manix 2 last night from Mike, and I couldn't be more pleased with it.  Of course, it has the exact same ergonomics as the other Manix 2s, however, like the S30v vs. 154CM, the Green Manix 2 has grippier G10 than the previous iterations of the knife.  I'm interested if anyone else can confirm this, or if I'm just imagining things?  Also, this knife is wicked sharp.  Crazy sharp.  I was shaving tiny little strands off the edge of a piece of paper like it was nothing.

Anybody else have initial reactions?

I have heard these two things very consistently about this knife.

1. Sharp as hell right out of the box (most say sharpest ever)
2. G10 has better traction.

Over on USN there is an excellent compare contrast pic of caly 3 g10 and the manix 2 g10 and the pattern is different. I wish he would of compared it to the other mani, but you could definitely notice a difference in the pattern.
I cannot wait to get mine in and plays with it :D
I ordered one of these (paid a bit too much), but can't wait to receive it (supposed to come tomorrow). Heard nothing but good things
I've heard G10 feels more plastic-like
I don't have a Manix 2 but I really like the looks of the FFG blade over hollow ground. It is a little too expensive atm but I seriously want one. I wish Spyderco would do another run of these; I believe they would sell out again. You made an excellent choice.
At the risk of sounding like a jerk, I did make an excellent choice!
The other day I was cutting 22" zip-ties, which are made with fairly tough plastic, and I probably cut 15-20 of them, and the knife went through them like they were soft butter. I was wondering about edge retention afterwards, so I cut some paper, and the blade was still razor sharp. Would take slivers off the edge of a piece of paper thin enough that they were curling up.
I've never had a knife I trusted so much.

I have the regular Black, the Blue and the Green one. I've haven't really noticed much of a difference between the three but then again I really wasn't looking. I'll have to check it out again when all three are together.
I received my XHP Manix II a couple of weeks ago and it is one sweet knife. Love the lock mechanism, so much so I ordered a Pink one from Mike (here). Got it in the mail today! Thanks, Mike.

I prefer the full flat grind. Since I don't use my knife as a pry-bar there's no down side to FFG for me.
I don't believe anyone would regret getting the Manix II in any configuration.
